The winner of the national competition for ‘The Ultimate Ploughmans Loaf’ was awarded to Penny Smith who produced a unique loaf of bread containing everything you would expect a ploughmans to be, but baked within the loaf.

Runner up was our local girl Sue, who produced a red onion and balsamic reduction loaf.

The competition was judged and filmed for TV on Monday 20th February and will be aired sometime next month.

The competition is part of Artisan programme here at The Bakers Arms and forthcoming events will include more bread-making, cheese-making, beer-making and chocolate making.
