The Bakers Oven

The old bakery dates back over 800 yrs and has been restored to its former glory. You may see the bakery for yourself! Simply ask a member of staff if you would like any information relating to the history of the bakery. There are forthcoming events (organised by ourselves, Everards Brewery, historical and food societies) which may interest you.

Bread Making Courses

How it works! You will learn the practicalities and principles of how to make basic, delicious loaves of bread. We will proof the yeast and knead the dough. You will be amazed when it rises and we will shape it and bake the bread in the pubs main kitchen. You will admire your new talents when you take your bread out of the oven, golden and perfect to take home for others to admire!

In between we will talk about grains, flours and bread history. We’ll talk about bread nutrition, bread stories and how to become a bread-head!

The bread baking session is leisurely and fun with plenty of time to chat and sample breads. There will be two types of breads to take home and a goody bag to get things started.
